Autumn breeze and pumpkins please!

Hello Friends! Today, I am composing this entry in my witchy crafting studio where I have three (out of my five) sleepy cats, who were up all night “partying” and welcoming in the Full Moon’s energy. Incense is dancing throughout the space and I am drinking a cup of pumpkin coffee because I am always in a pumpkin mood 🎃

I am in disbelief that September 1st is on Friday! I do not know about you, but I feel like this year has flown by. I am ready for Autumnal adventures! This year, I have some trips planned that I am very much looking forward to. I love being able to travel and write/craft/experience life. It’s truly a blessing.

… but while I am in this ‘pumpkin’ state of mind, I wanted to write about an entry about embracing the Autumnal season. Yeah, sure: technically speaking, it doesn’t start until September 23rd, which is the start of the Autumn Equinox, but if you are anything like me, you’ve been pre-gaming Autumn/Halloween for months.

Here’s a few witch crafty tips and tricks for those who wish to add some flare into their home:

  • Each year, I put up a Halloween tree and add decorations to it. I love making my own ornaments!
    • Bucilla makes felt ornament kits which are wicked adorable! If sewing is not your thing, there are other ways that you can make your own ornaments for the season.
    • To witch-up your ornaments, you can add witchy charms and herbs to them to add intentions and magick! I do this with all of mine.
  • Speaking of decorations, add pumpkins around your home or even change our the curtains. Each year, I love to decorate for Autumn/Halloween. The home decor here is witch aesthetic so I just add a few extra pieces and boom, my house is ready! But play and have fun! This year, I want to experiment and decorate the outside of my home.
  • Make an apple strand garland!
    • I love going to the farm and apple orchard! Picking apples and pumpkins is a lot of fun. You can do this with your coven, your friends or your family. Make a day out of it, especially if it’s that picturesque Autumn day and the weather is just right… you’ll be there all day having the time of your life!
      • To dehydrate apples, you have to be prepared to wait all day for them to dry. This is a 6-8 hour process. Slice your apples thin and place them on a cookie sheet (sorry, this is what they are called in my homestead… I do not know them by any other name, haha! 🤓) Once they are dry, you can string them together with twine and hang it around your home for a festive look!
  • Where are my kitchen witches/baking witches at? Need some new recipe ideas ideas about something new to try this season? Look no future!
    • Pumpkin cobbler!
    • Dutch apple pie!
    • Apple cider!
      • I love baking all of the Autumn treats! Plus, the scents that come from the kitchen are delicious!
    • You can also try a simmer pot! A special pot used to craft recipes would work too. I love to do this in the Autumn when I do not want to use up all of my candles and wax melts.
    • Below is an example of what a simmer pot looks like.
      • On this particular day, I was playing with the herbs in my cabinet and was adding different things to this pot. But here’s an easy recipe:
        • Boil water and add 1 cinnamon stick, 5-7 cloves, 2 apple slices, a small pinch of nutmeg.
        • That’s all there is to it!

Those are a few suggestions! What I love about this time of year the most is that it stirs the desire within each of us for more opportunity to play!

What are some Autumn activities that you are most looking forward to this season?

Until then,
